Yankees urged to trade Anthony Volpe as New York fans unleash their anger

Anthony Volpe isn't hitting, so his defense is supposed to be the saving grace for the New York Yankees' shortstop.

Except just on Sunday, he had two plays that he didn't get an out because he didn't throw with enough urgency.

This season feels like it's going from bad to worse for Volpe, who was supposed to be the long-term answer at that position for New York.

One fan proposed a goofy, obviously unrealistic trade that also captures the vibes around Volpe at this moment:

The Yankees won't actually trade Volpe this month.

But the shortstop has left doubt that he's the infield leader of the future.

If things keep going like this, Volpe might not last forever in the Bronx.
