Is St. Louis Cardinals star third baseman Nolan Arenado on his way out? At this rate, it seems to be a matter of time. Now, the question is where would he go?
The New York Yankees have long been viewed as a possible Arenado landing spot, especially with their need for another bat to add to the lineup and the third baseman position a bit iffy.
But, once again, the Arenado-Yankees buzz got hit with a harsh reality check from MLB insider Jon Heyman.
"To me, Arenado would be a fit there. As I've said all along, the Yankees have shown no interest in Arenado to this point," Heyman said. "I think that's not really about Arenado. I think that's really about the money. I get it."
Heyman then added more in a post on X: "Arenado would be a great fit. The strong suspicion: the Yankees’ tax bracket (110 percent) is the big hurdle, and if they spend, it’ll need to be on pitching."

— Jon Heyman (@JonHeyman) May 6, 2025So, as Heyman has stood on for a while, it doesn't appear that the Yankees have shown interest in Arenado, even with May here.
Does that change in the coming weeks? Only time will tell.
