Yankees' Jazz Chisholm gets roasted by Guardians' Hall of Fame announcer

Jazz Chisholm Jr. went on the Jimmy Fallon Show and predicted the New York Yankees will win the World Series.

That set Chisholm up to get roasted during the Yankees' series opener with the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday.

The savage comment came from Guardians radio announcer Tom Hamilton, who was recognized with the Ford C. Frick Award from the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2025.

Hamilton was telling the story of Chisholm getting the late show opportunity, and he said, "Pretty amazing he got on the Jimmy Fallon Show batting .239."

Definitely not a lot of respect being shown right there toward Chisholm.

The reality is that modern baseball is so far away from being about batting average. Hitting is so hard. Pitching is so good. And hitters are focused on other things anyway.

So yeah, Chisholm is hitting .239. This season so far, the leaguewide average batting average is .241.

Chisholm has an impressive power-speed combination, and he's started to heat up just a bit lately.

Maybe going on the popular show is a bit too attention-grabbing for some, but Chisholm is a quality player, no matter what his batting average might say.
