This isn't good.
Max Fried left his start for the New York Yankees on Saturday with a blister on his throwing hand, and the updates don't bring about much hope.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters this: “It’s a good one. Like, he definitely had to come out.”
The Athletic reports that Fried kept his hands behind his back during his postgame interview session so as not to let anyone see the blister.
The one good piece of news for Fried is that this was his last start before the All-Star break. He can likely rest for the next 7-10 days without missing a full turn in the rotation.

The Yankees can't afford to have Fried out for long. He's been by far their best pitcher all season.
Saturday's outing was a bit rough even before he exited, but if the defense behind him had been better, it wouldn't have seemed as bad.
Fried still has a 2.43 ERA on the season. The Yankees need him out there every fifth day.
The southpaw is hiding that blister for now. Hopefully, soon enough there's nothing that he needs to hide.
