Yankees expected to let go of utility man following 2025

A few days before the MLB trade deadline, the New York Yankees struck a deal with the Washington Nationals to acquire Amed Rosario in exchange for Clayton Beeter and Browm Martinez.

Rosario has done well with the team since arriving in The Bronx, but the problem isn't with Rosario's production necessarily, it's the people that are also on the team with him.

And that could lead to Rosario hitting the free agent market after 2025.

Yankees Expected to Part with Rosario After 2025

According to Thomas Carannante with Yanks Go Yard on FanSided, Rosario is among five players currently in pinstripes that could be playing their final games with the 27-time champions.

The reason? There's just not a spot for him on the team.

"With Jose Caballero and Ryan McMahon in the fold for 2026 and beyond, there's just no room for Rosario," Carannante writes. "Unless he wants to be the good vibes cheerleader, a role he has admirably taken on ever since the trade deadline."

This is a shame for the utility man, who turns 30 in November. In the 12 games that he has played for the team, he has posted a .391 batting average with a long ball and three runs batted in.

However, another good point is brought up in the article, as the Yankees don't want to go through the same thing they went through with Anthony Volpe over this past season, a big-money deal that results in underproduction.
