Yankees’ bullpen questions might be answered with what they already have

Which will be more of a shutdown, the Yankees offseason or their 2026 bullpen

As they currently stand, they can only hope the latter takes after the former. 

Because the bullpen did not rank as high as some of their other needs this winter (like bringing back Cody Bellinger), the Yankees have sat out the top end of that market, too, as they near the end of December yet to make an external addition to their 40-man roster outside of Rule 5 draft pick Cade Winquest

Winquest will have a chance to win a spot in that bullpen this spring, but the Yankees will need more help than just that to bolster a unit that had the eighth-highest ERA (4.37) and 10th-lowest fWAR (2.8) in 2025.
