Yankees ‘bleacher creatures’ reveal plans for Juan Soto return

New York Mets superstar outfielder Juan Soto will make his return to the Bronx after leaving the New York Yankees in free agency.

Soto played for the Yankees for one season and left in free agency for their cross-town rivals. As the Mets return to the Bronx for a weekend series, the famed ‘Bleacher Creatures’ have a plan for Soto.

Mark Chalpin is the voice behind the ‘Bleacher Creatures’ and he spoke to Randy Miller of NJ.com and has a plan for how they will handle Soto’s return.

“I don’t think we can pull it off, but I would like to see us all turn our back when Soto comes out in the first inning,” Chalpin said.

Although Chalpin wants to see them turn their back on Soto, it seems more likely the star outfielder will get booed upon his return to the Bronx.

Chalpin is expecting a rude reception for Soto regardless of what the Bleacher Creatures are able to pull off.

“I can tell you that the real Bleacher Creatures, the regulars, are going to do things like ‘F’ Juan Soto,” Chalpin said. “We may do other things, and he’s not going to get a warm reception, and you may hear that chant, but it won’t be from us.”

Soto signed a 15-year, $765 million deal in free agency with the Mets. In his first season in New York, he’s hitting .255 with 8 home runs and 20 RBIs and has been a key part of the Mets' success.
