Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently spoke about Samantha Irvin's future in the wrestling business. The 36-year-old star is currently serving her non-compete.
On a recent social media post, Irvin mentioned that she has a two-year non-compete after her stint with WWE. Samantha detailed that she cherished the memories from her time in the company and had another year in her non-compete before she could be back in the business. This revelation got fans speculating about some of TKO's recent polices. Many even encouraged her to seek legal help to bust the non-compete clause.
This week on Writing with Russo, the ex-WWE writer shared how he would book Samantha in AEW. He mentioned that she was an extraordinary ring announcer, but he would have liked to see her get more involved in the action. Russo suggested that she could become a manager and side with some wrestlers. He felt this would be a good exercise to let out her charisma and personality. The veteran writer felt that anybody could do a decent job as a ring announcer, but Irvin would be better utilized as a valet or manager for a specific wrestler.
"Yeah, if I was her, I would use her as a manager before anything. Anybody can ring announce, bro. I mean, she was a good ring announcer, but come on, let's face it, anybody can ring announce," Russo said.Former WWE star and Samatha's husband, Ricochet, also commented on her current status. He detailed that she had another year before she could join the business, or rather, one year before he would decide whether she would rejoin the business.
