On the May 27 episode of WWE NXT, Ricky Starks sustained an injury at the hands of Ethan Page. He hasn't competed since that night, and his return date has finally been announced.

The Absolute One defended the North American Championship against All Ego, and during the bout, the heel star injured his neck by delivering a Twisted Grin throat-first across a steel chair. The match continued, however, as Ava had made it clear that she wanted a winner no matter what.

WWE announced that Ricky Saints was diagnosed with a laryngeal contusion and would be out of action indefinitely. He made a surprise appearance on NXT last week and attacked Ethan Page after the latter's match against Sean Legacy for the NA Title.

On the latest episode of WWE NXT, Corey Graves announced that The Absolute One would make his in-ring return next week, which means he'll finally be medically cleared to compete. Saints confronted Ethan Page backstage after the announcement, but he could barely speak.

He told All Ego that next week he would be cleared, and that he would be coming after him. Ethan Page didn't take him seriously. Ashante Adonis confronted Ricky Saints, and a match was teased between the two stars.
