WWE Hall of Famer Stacy Keibler shocked fans by leaving a moving tribute to her friend James Van Der Beek, revealing that she spent his last days with him before the beloved Dawson’s Creek icon passed away on Wednesday, February 11 after battling colorectal cancer. He was just 48.

“I didn’t know he was such great friends with Stacy Keibler,” wrote one fan on Reddit.

“I wonder how those two knew each other?” asked another.

“Spending these final days with you has been a true gift from God.
I have never been so present in my life,” Keibler began her Instagram tribute, just hours after his tragic passing. “When you know time is sacred, you don’t waste a single breath. You don’t rush. You don’t scroll. You don’t worry about tomorrow. You sit. You listen. You hold hands. You watch the sky change colors and you let it change you too. In these past days, you taught me more about being present than any book ever could.

“You showed me what it looks like to trust God’s plan, even when it breaks your heart. Especially when it breaks your heart.”

Keibler’s deep-felt tribute touched many people.

“This may be the single most beautiful and equally heartbreaking post I’ve ever read on social media,” wrote one commenter. “Powerful powerful. Even in crossing he has give us life lessons. 💔 🤍”

Van Der Beek leaves behind wife Kimberly and their six children.

Keibler wrestled from 2001 to 2006 before heading to Hollywood, where she dated George Clooney from 2011 to 2013. She was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2023.
