John Cena Sr. suggests a WWE RAW star as his son's final opponent
John Cena Sr. recently suggested that Dominik Mysterio should battle John Cena in his final match at Saturday Night's Main Event next month.
In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Dr. Chris Featherstone, Cena Sr. suggested that The Judgment Day star should be the star to battle his son in his retirement match. He pitched that Dirty Dom could win his Intercontinental Championship back next month and retire John Cena in the process.
"I don't think we should stop the storyline there. At the very last match in Washington, DC, it should be Mysterio against Cena to get his belt back. That would close that chapter. The one thing I've seen with the WWE writing this tour is [that] there's been a lot of storylines with no finishes." he said.John Cena beats Dominik Mysterio to become the Intercontinental Champion for the first time in his career 🤯 (via @WWE)
Dominik Mysterio pinned his Judgment Day stablemate, Finn Balor, in a Fatal 4-Way match earlier this year at WrestleMania 41 to become Intercontinental Champion. The 28-year-old defeated El Hijo del Vikingo at Worlds Collide 2025 to capture the AAA Mega Championship and still holds that title. Only time will tell what the company has planned for the remainder of Cena's retirement tour.
