The World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk, and WWE seemingly took shots at AEW on RAW, and fans on social media are not pleased. Punk seemingly recalled a moment from the year 2023.

This past Monday on RAW, CM Punk opened the show as the new World Heavyweight Champion. He defeated Jey Uso last Saturday to capture the title. While entering the ring, Punk did a victory lap, which was seemingly a shot at AEW. After he was fired from All Elite Wrestling in 2023, The Young Bucks did a victory lap on an episode of Collision.

Some fans on the internet also speculated that WWE is taking shots at AEW by putting Logan Paul as the potential first title challenger for Punk, who does a buckshot lariat similar to Hangman Page, as Hangman also had an alleged real-life feud with Punk.

Former AEW star claims things with CM Punk would've been different if he were there

The former AEW star, Joey Janela recently revealed his honest thoughts on CM Punk. Punk was terminated from All Elite Wrestling after his infamous backstage altercation with Jack Perry at All In 2023.

Taking to X, Janela claimed that things with Punk in AEW could've been different if he were there because he was friends with Jack Perry:

"No issues with him at all, could’ve been different if I stuck around AEW because my close friendship with Jack. Always a big fan since I was a teenager, had all his best of DVDs," Janela wrote.

Meanwhile, Punk is the WWE World Heavyweight Champion ,and it remains to be seen what's next for him.
