Miley Cyrus Transforms into ‘Hannah Montana’ in 20th Anniversary Special First Look

Miley Cyrus is interested in growing her flowers on this popular stage.

The Endless Summer Vacation singer shared her thoughts on whether she’d ever headline a Super Bowl Halftime show in the future, and she has already considered what it might look like.

“I always think the Super Bowl feels like too much pressure,” Miley, 33, told Variety in an interview published March 18. “I would have to do the mental work of making it not about the Super Bowl, because then you can’t help but go, ‘It’s millions of people, and it’s the most-watched thing in the world.’”

She continued, “But if I could find a way to make it exactly what the Hannahversary was—taking a journey through the discography and appreciating each song, each era for what it is—I think I could find it in myself.”

Indeed, Miley has been honoring her word as she continues to promote her Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special, which will premiere on Disney+ March 24. In the special’s trailer, the “Nobody’s Perfect” star wore her titular character’s iconic blonde wig as she walked around the show’s set. She even recreated the cover of Hannah’s debut soundtrack, sporting a similar white jacket and bedazzled top.

However, the two-time Grammy winner—who’s engaged to Maxx Morando—isn’t just embracing her Disney roots for the upcoming special. In fact, she’s been imbuing her character’s essence into her solo career for over a decade.

“A lot of artists feel like to become the next version of themselves, they have to leave something behind,” Miley explained to Variety. “But I’d rather be more like a gorgeous patchwork blanket. I’d rather take every little piece of all the things that I’ve been and create a mosaic of exactly who I am now, not trashing any of that past but allowing it to come with me.”

After all, she understands Hannah Montana is “not just a TV show.”

“I think even Disney sometimes forgets the connection between me and Hannah” she pointed out. “I see daily how important Hannah is to people. When I travel, people bring me Hannah merch. They ask, ‘Are you ever going to do another season?’”

While the Plastic Hearts singer didn’t reveal if she’ll revive her character beyond the forthcoming Hannahversary, she admitted she’s unlocked a new level of happiness in her career.

“My life is so beautiful. It never feels like I’m swimming upstream anymore,” Miley expressed. “I like the way people see me. And when I first left Hannah and put out [2013 album] Bangerz, I did not feel that way.”
