WWE saw a world champion pinned tonight in a sudden shock. Now, the future of the championship has been announced.

Trick Williams won the TNA World Championship recently and has since held it quite dominantly. However, tonight, the World Champion was the one pinned in one of the biggest shocks of the night. Elijah teamed with Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura in a six-person tag team match. They faced AJ Francis, Wes Lee, and Trick Williams.

The match was hard-hitting and fast-paced as well, but in the end, it was clear who was going to win. Inamura did the unthinkable and hit a huge splash after shaking the ropes to give himself an extra boost. This proved enough for him to pin the TNA World Champion Trick Williams. The latter was the one to take the fall, which is significant, as the company usually protects champions.

This would have likely led to Inamura getting a chance at the title very soon as well.

However, Inamura was ready to give up his title shot and hand it to Josh Briggs instead, and he said that he would be the WWE NXT Champion.

WWE followed this up with an announcement revealing that Josh Briggs will indeed get a title shot against Williams next Tuesday.
