"The People's Princess" finally got her crown. She picked quite the time to do so.
Azzi Fudd has enjoyed a splendid first season in the WNBA, helping lead the Wings to the third-best record in the league while lighting up courts with her three-point shooting. On Friday, she got a chance to flaunt her signature skill in one of the WNBA's most famous settings: the three-point contest.
Fudd authored up a masterpiece on the Wintrust Center court on Friday, using her effortless form to take home the WNBA's shooting crown.

Fudd hoisted the first trophy of her professional career on Friday night. She was less a basketball player than a trebuchet during the three-point contest, motoring beyond All-Stars like Rhyne Howard and Marina Mabrey with a glitzy 24-point outing in the first round.
The UConn graduate really showed her quality in the second-round, putting Carleton on the back foot with a scorching showing. Fudd tallied 30 points in a minute, missing just six shots as she raced from rack to rack. Carleton huffed and puffed, looking for a way back into the matchup.
But Fudd's exploits were too much to overcome. With her outburst, Fudd became the youngest-ever three-point shootout winner.

Fudd has emerged as one of the W's best youngsters this season, overcoming an understated start to carve out a sizable role in Jose Fernandez's rotation.
Fudd ranks fourth in scoring and first in steals among WNBA rookies. While she's unlikely to take home Rookie of the Year honors — Olivia Miles is the frontrunner after a stunning start to the year — Fudd does seem a shoo-in for first-team All-Rookie honors.

Azzi Fudd age
Fudd is 23 years old. She'll turn 24 on Nov. 11.
The UConn alum spent five years in Storrs, although one of those campaigns was spent almost entirely on the sidelines due to a torn ACL.
With her triumph in Friday's contest, Fudd became the youngest-ever three-point contest winner. She also became the first winner to claim the trophy — only three other rookies had competed in the event in their first year prior to Fudd.
