Wings' Paige Bueckers has one play no WNBA team has been able to stop

The Dallas Wings are scorching to start July.

Winners of five consecutive games, the Wings are 16-8 and well on track to return to the playoffs after missing out in each of the past two seasons.

Dallas quickly is becoming a place no one wants to go in the second half of the season -- and Paige Bueckers is becoming even more difficult for opponents to stop.

Bueckers has unlocked the single most efficient play in the WNBA this season: the post-up.

Bueckers post-ups are averaging an exceptional 1.64 points per possession, which is the single most-efficient action of any qualified WNBA player this season.

Dallas Wings star Paige Bueckers has generated 1.640 points per possession on post-ups (1.469 PPP including passes), which is the highest efficiency of any qualified WNBA player this season.

Though she doesn't possess the prototypical body type to bully opponents down low, Bueckers' underrated strength on the ball -- and her intelligence off the ball -- combined with her touch around the rim create a deadly cocktail for defenses.

Bueckers has gotten even better at playing through contact, though her free-throw attempts are down to 3.6 per game relative to her rookie season. Her footwork, passing and turnaround jumper allow the Wings multiple avenues to exploit her post-ups.

The Wings' offense is third in the WNBA in efficiency at 112.8 points per 100 possessions. And Bueckers is flirting with a 50/40/90 season, shooting 51.6 percent from the floor, 38 percent from 3-point range and 86.7 percent from the free-throw line.

She is quickly becoming a complete offensive weapon and one of the league's elite players, which will help elevate the Wings into the playoffs for the first time since a semifinal run in 2023.
