As Super Bowl LX draws closer, former NFL offensive lineman and Super Bowl champion Willie Colon isn’t expecting a blowout. Instead, Colon believes fans are in for a tense, physical game that comes down to execution in key moments — with the Seattle Seahawks ultimately doing just enough to outlast the New England Patriots.
Speaking on Scoop B Radio, Colon offered a detailed breakdown of the matchup before locking in his final score prediction: Seahawks 27, Patriots 24.

“I don’t think this is going to be a high-scoring game,” Colon said. “This one is going to come down to situational football, protecting the ball, and who makes fewer mistakes when things get tight.”
A major reason Colon is leaning Seattle is quarterback Sam Darnold, whose resurgence has been one of the most talked-about storylines of the postseason. Colon, who covered Darnold early in his career, emphasized how much context mattered in shaping public perception.
“A large part of his development wasn’t that he wasn’t the guy,” Colon said. “They just didn’t have the team around him. No receivers, a patchy offensive line — there were holes everywhere.”
Now settled in Seattle, Colon believes Darnold is playing with confidence and clarity. “He’s had an MVP-type year,” Colon said. “If he wins this game, this rewrites his legacy completely.”
That trust stands in contrast to New England’s young quarterback, Drake Maye. While Colon praised the Patriots’ playoff run — which included wins over several elite defenses — he noted lingering concerns.
“I’ve seen Drake fumble and turn the ball over when things get hot,” Colon said. “When the pressure ramps up late in games, that matters.”
Colon also credited the Patriots’ culture, calling them “tough, disciplined, and scrappy,” and acknowledging that they’ve peaked at the right time. Still, he believes Seattle’s experience and steadiness give them a slight edge if the game is decided late.
And in classic Super Bowl fashion, Colon is expecting something unexpected.

“For some reason, there’s gonna be a safety in this Super Bowl,” he said with a laugh before delivering his final pick. “I’m gonna go 27-24 Seahawks.”
