Denny Hamlin did not hold back after the lawsuit between his 23XI Racing, Front Row Motorsports, and NASCAR ended, turning his attention toward what he believes was unfair public criticism from NASCAR media figures when the lawsuit was first filed. Hamlin has publicly called out SiriusXM NASCAR Radio’s Channel 90, demanding an apology following the case’s settlement.

Hamlin, the co-owner of 23XI Racing and driver of the #11 car for Joe Gibbs Racing, took to X to directly address Larry McReynolds and channel 90, who, he claims, were unfairly critical of 23XI and FRM when the lawsuit was initially filed.

“Good morning. Now that the case is settled and the evidence is out will you or anyone on channel 90 be issuing an apology for what you all said about 23XI/FRM when the lawsuit was filed?” Hamin wrote on X.

@LarryMac28 @BradGillie @SiriusXMNASCAR @Team_FRM Good morning. Now that the case is settled and the evidence is out will you or anyone on channel 90 be issuing an apology for what you all said about 23XI/FRM when the lawsuit was filed?

The three-time Daytona 500 winner followed up with a second tweet, recalling specific remarks he says were made by analysts at the time. According to him, the narrative pushed on the airwaves painted 23XI-FRM as troublemakers rather than stakeholders standing up for themselves.

In another tweet, Hamlin wrote:

“I believe it was “how dare them for trying to come in and change the sport. 23XI hasn’t been around long enough and FRM wasn’t good enough”. Also how about “ I dont know what their problem is, 13 other teams signed it”. Just to name a few examples.”

@LarryMac28 @BradGillie @SiriusXMNASCAR @Team_FRM I believe it was “how dare them for trying to come in and change the sport. 23XI hasn’t been around long enough and FRM wasn’t good enough”. Also how about “ I dont know what their problem is, 13 other teams signed it”. Just to name a few examples.

While full details of the resolution have not been publicly dissected, but Denny Hamlin’s reaction clearly shows that the outcome proves the lawsuit was not as baseless as some analysts initially claimed. In the end, it helped the teams, as evergreen charters have been added to the updated agreement, marking the charter system as permanent.

What did Denny Hamlin say after 23XI-FRM reached a breakthrough settlement with NASCAR?

The year-long legal dispute between NASCAR and 23XI Racing, co-owned by Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan, and FRM ended last week. Both Cup Series teams will now have their charters returned.

On his part, in the statement, Denny Hamlin spoke about necessity of the fight for industry stability and said:

“I've cared deeply about the sport of NASCAR my entire life. Racing is all I've ever known, and this sport shaped who I am. That's why we were willing to shoulder the challenges that came with taking this stand. We believed it was worth fighting for a stronger and more sustainable future for everyone in the industry. Teams, drivers, and partners will now have the stability and opportunity they deserve. Our commitment to the fans and to the entire NASCAR community has never been stronger.”

The financial terms of the settlement haven’t been announced publicly yet.
