For the second time on Tuesday, Will Wade has gained a commitment from a player that has either been drafted the NBA, was signed to an NBA team, or played professionally overseas. This time, the 58th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Saliou Niang, has committed to Wade and the Tigers.

Niang has played professionally internationally for four years with stops in Serie A in Italy, EuroCup, and the EuroLeague. In his most recent stint with Virtus Bologna of Lega Basket Serie A in Italy, he averaged 9 points, 5,1 rebounds, and 1.7 assists.

With the move, LSU has now gained a commitment from five total players who have either been linked to an NBA team or played internationally at the pro level. Niang is the second pro-prospect to join the Tigers on Tuesday, with former Big East Player of the Year and undrafted NBA free agent, RJ Luis Jr., also committing.

At this point, Will Wade is turning LSU basketball into the next NBA expansion team.

Saliou Niang has committed to LSU. He was the 58th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. He now joins:

Yam Madar (Drafted 2020)
RJ Luis (G League)
Brice Dessert (EuroLeague)
Marcio Santos…
