Will There Be a ‘Love Story’ Season 2?

Who can believe we’ve already made it to the end of Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette. I’m not ready to say goodbye to this beautiful mess of a show. 

The Season 1 finale may barely be over but given the show’s widespread success — amassing 52 million hours watched over the course of its nine episode, seven week run — we’re already starting to wonder when and if we will be getting another story from FX and Hulu. 

We all may have fallen in love with Carolyn Bessette (Sarah Pidgeon) and John F. Kennedy Jr. (Paul Anthony Kelly) throughout the course of the season, but Season 2 could introduce us to yet another couple who live in infamy to fall in love with… and perhaps break our hearts. 

But who could it be? That is the question at hand. 

Here’s everything you need to know about the future of Love Story, including if the show has been renewed for another season, whose love story it will focus on, and when exactly we could see the second season on our screens…

Will There Be a Love Story Season 2?

As of Thursday, March 26, FX has not announced a second season of Love Story. If you’re hoping to see more of Sarah Pidgeon and Paul Anthony Kelly playing Carolyn Bessette and John F. Kennedy Jr, the bad news is that if Love Story does get renewed — which we predict it will — it is likely going to move to another infamous couple, rather than see any more of JFK Jr. and Carolyn. This couple’s story has been told.

Who Could Love Story Season 2 Follow?

In all reality, the world is FX’s oyster when it comes to famous couples that the show could explore in Season 2. That said, the show’s executive producer and creator, Connor Hines, has signaled that there are certain couples he would love to potentially dive into for the second season.

“Maybe Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton,” Hines said in an interview with Vanity Fair, answering questions about the future of the series. “They have the right intensity.”

When Could Love Story Season 2 Premiere on FX and Hulu?

Given the show’s success, we think that FX is going to make a second season of the anthology series a major priority. As far as an exact release date, no info on that just quite yet, but we are most likely looking at the second season releasing sometime in 2027.
