Dramatic footage has captured the moment a paraglider was winched to safety following a horrific mid-air collision on the Sunshine Coast.

A Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) spokesperson said the woman became intertwined with a male paraglider in a mid-air collision on Sunday, each falling 30 meters (98 feet) onto a sand cliff.

Paragliders who were flying with the pair landed on the beach and raced back up the cliff to assist them.

The woman in her 50s sustained abdominal and back injuries, while the man in his 60s was uninjured.
