Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones Sr. is one of the most experienced RBs in the NFL.
He also has a fascinating background that took some people by surprise on Sunday Night Football.
Those watching SNF noticed that Jones has the flag of Germany on the back of his helmet.
Players in the league can opt to wear an international flag on their helmet. Commanders QB Jayden Daniels recently went viral for having the Japanese flag on his (for his great-grandmother).

Why does Aaron Jones have a German flag on his helmet?
Aaron Jones spent time in his childhood living in Germany.
His parents were in the U.S. Army, which brought the family there.
Alvin Sr. and Vurgess Jones both retired as sergeant majors in the U.S. Army.

They lived in Germany for a time, and also in Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia and Texas.
Jones has previously been nominated for the Salute to Service Award, something he takes pride in due to his military roots.
"Growing up as a military brat, my parents served a combined 56 years. They put their life into it. For me to still be able to represent them in that way and get this nomination, I know my parents are very proud of me," Jones said at the time of that nomination.
