Why Travis Kelce's ex Kayla Nicole is seemingly blasting haters about their romance

Kayla Nicole isn’t holding back when it comes to the critics who’ve told her to “move on” from her past relationship with Travis Kelce.

On the latest episode of the Second Wind Podcast, Nicole, 33, didn’t mince words, calling out those who seem fixated on her breakup with the Kansas City Chiefs star. “People will always say, ‘Get over it,’ which is so interesting,” she remarked. “And to them, I’d say, ‘You too.’”

While she didn’t name Kelce, 35, directly, Nicole made it clear that her journey has been much more than her breakup story. She described her “authenticity” and “transparency” as her “super power,” adding, “Life handed me lemons, and I made a lemon martini out of it, and that upsets people.”

However, a lot of fans in the comments section of the Youtube video of the episode didn’t seem to agree with the sports broadcaster.

“I really am rooting for Kayla to break free from the narrative that she's nothing but an ex of an NFL player. However, in order for her to do that, she does need to let go of the desire/need to tell her story’ in relation to that ex,” one fan wrote.

A second user declared, “I know she wants people to stop calling her and Ex but she will always be. She’s not a celebrity or a public figure. People started to know about her becuase Travis started dating Taylor,” referring to Kelce’s current girlfriend, Taylor Swift.

Nicole, who joined Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test earlier this year, also stressed the importance of succeeding on her own terms. “Any success that I’ve had on this very big platform … you can’t take that away from me. What I did on that show was all me. I don’t care who I’ve dated in my life.” she said.

Nicole and Kelce dated on-and-off for 5 years before calling it quits in 2022. A year later, the tight end started dating Swift, 35, and they have been happily together ever since.
