Why Ravens tried Mark Andrews tush pushes rather than Derrick Henry goal-line runs

The Baltimore Ravens didn't just try it once. 

After it didn't work, they tried it again.

The Ravens were at the 1-yard line against the Los Angeles Rams with a second down and goal to go.

On two plays in a row, they had tight end Mark Andrews align under center.

He ran a pair of quarterback sneaks, or tush pushes, or whatever you call it when a TE runs that play.

Both times, the Rams stuffed it.

The Ravens didn't give it to superstar and powerful runner Derrick Henry on either of those plays despite needing just a yard.

"He'd be who I want to give the ball," said Fox analyst Tom Brady, who knows a thing or two.

On fourth down, the Ravens went for it.

This time, Cooper Rush aligned under center as the traditional QB, and the Ravens tried a power handoff left to Henry.

But the Rams, knowing the Ravens wouldn't get cute a third play in a row, stormed the backfield and stuffed Henry.

Baltimore came away with no points despite having one of the best TD-scoring RBs of all time and being at the 1 for multiple plays, because they decided to use some gimmicks rather than using the best healthy player on their offense.

It's one thing to let Lamar Jackson do things, but he's out injured. This needs to be the Henry show, and the Ravens thought it'd be fun to let Andrews run instead.
