Why Ravens don't 'have to be perfect' for playoff shot

5 hours ago 1

The Baltimore Ravens are well aware of what is at stake in Week 8: their entire 2025 season.

That might be heavy-handed, but at 1-5, and with only 11 games left on the schedule, the Ravens would realistically need 10 wins to have a shot at playoff football.

That means winning at least nine of their remaining games, leaving many thinking the Ravens have to be perfect from here on out just to be in with a shot of making it to the postseason.

But running back Derrick Henry doesn't feel that way.

“I don't think we have to be perfect, but I think we have to have a sense of urgency,” Henry said. “We all know what's at stake to get what we want to get done. I think we know what we don't need to do to put ourselves in positions not to be able to win. Just play our style of football, play like a Raven, hold each other accountable, do all the little things, the details, so it translates through the game. Just go play and have fun.”

Can Ravens make the playoffs?

They can, but goodness me, it is going to be hard.

As we mentioned above, 10 wins will be the benchmark for the playoffs, maybe nine if you are fortunate, so the Ravens will need to win the majority of their games just to be in with a shot.

Granted, having Lamar Jackson back helps, but the Ravens' margin for error is zero.

They can't afford to lose any game for the rest of the season, maybe one or two, and with five division games still to come, it is a herculean effort that will be needed, and Baltimore might need to run the table in the AFC North.

Can that be achieved? Yes, but it is a difficult thing to accomplish.

It is a big task ahead of the Ravens, but it starts with a simple first step -- beat the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
