For golf fans, the month of April means one thing:

Masters season.

This year, for the first time ever, Amazon Prime will deliver coverage from the iconic event. The platform will gift viewers two extra hours of coverage on Thursday's and Friday's rounds from Augusta.

Prime is set to complement CBS and ESPN's traditional coverage, adding bonus coverage along with an inside broadcast from Amen's Corner.

Here's why the Masters will have coverage aired on Amazon Prime this year, along with other ways you can tune into this year's championship.

Why is the Masters on Prime?

According to Augusta chairman Fred Ridley, Amazon Prime will debut as this year's domestic broadcaster for the Masters in a new media rights agreement. Prime will complement both CBS and ESPN in delivering broadcast coverage from Augusta.

Prime will deliver two extra hours of coverage on both Thursday and Friday's first two rounds of competition. Terry Gannon will host Prime's coverage along with special guests, one of whom will be six-time Masters winner Jack Nicklaus, per Amazon's press release, for the 40th anniversary of his 1986 victory at Augusta.

The platform will also have a designated broadcast titled 'Inside Amen Corner,' with an "analytics-driven viewing experience of hole Nos. 11, 12, and 13." Justin Kutcher, Geoff Ogilvy, Smylie Kaufman, John Wood, and Michael Breed will all provide commentary from one of golf's most iconic hole locations.
