Why Is Kelly Ripa Not On Her Show This Week? Here’s Who Filled In On ‘Live’ Today

If you’re a Live with Kelly and Mark fan and missing Kelly Ripa, you won’t have to wait much longer for her return!

Mark Consuelos has been joined by different guest co-hosts all week in the midst of Ripa’s absence, including Jackie Tohn (Aug. 4), Jenna Dewan (Aug. 5), Rita Ora (Aug. 6) , and Elle Duncan (Aug. 7). On Friday morning’s episode, which was previously recorded, Katie Lowes filled in for Ripa. Consuelos and The Hunting Wives star spoke with comedian Matt Friend.

For those wondering why Ripa has been missing from her daytime talk show, a production source informed DECIDER that Ripa took a couple days off, as she does annually, for her summer break. She will be back on Live with Kelly and Mark on Monday, Aug. 11.

Consuelos was absent for four episodes last week, resulting in Jerry O’Connell, David Muir, Carson Kressley, and Steve Patterson stepping in for him.

Despite Ripa’s absence this week, the show’s guest list was a star-studded lineup, among whom Christopher Jackson, Anna Chlumsky, Tony Hawk, and Carol Leifer.

While DECIDER exclusively reported the news of Live‘s week-to-week ratings rise at the end of June, the show saw more ratings growth in July. According to a July 25 press release, Live rose week to week in both Total Viewers (+4% – 2.101 million vs. 2.013 million) and Households (+1% – 1.32 million vs. 1.31 million) for the second week in a row.

Additionally, Live‘s July 28 episode, which featured guests Jensen Ackles and Nikki Garcia, turned in the show’s most-watched telecast (2.285 million) in nearly two months – since May 23, 205.
