1 hour ago 2

A long way from Miami, the Big 12 Tournament championship game between Arizona and Houston looks like the best game of college basketball's final weekend before the NCAA Tournament. Even DJ Khaled came out to see it.

DJ Khaled was spotted sitting courtside for Saturday's contest between the Wildcats and Cougars, who are both heading into Selection Sunday as national championship contenders.

While it would be tough to blame him for wanting to take in that kind of game, the 50-year-old DJ and producer has another reason to attend the end of the Big 12 Tournament.

Here's what you need to know about DJ Khaled's appearance at Saturday's game between Arizona and Houston.

What is KC Live?

DJ Khaled's performance will take place at KC Live — officially stylized as "KC Live!" — in Kansas City's Power & Light District.

KC Live is an entire block dedicated to entertainment and music in downtown Kansas City, with a handful of bars and restaurants serving the space. KC Live is also popular for watch parties, which have been common during the Chiefs' run of success in the NFL, and fans will be able to congregate there to see DJ Khaled after the Big 12 Tournament wraps up.

Where is DJ Khaled from?

DJ Khaled was born and raised in New Orleans, but he's lived in Miami since 1998 and has become synonymous with South Florida.

Originally a radio DJ in Miami, DJ Khaled gained popularity as part of Fat Joe's hip hop collective Terror Squad and released his first album in 2006.

Is DJ Khaled an Arizona or Houston fan?

DJ Khaled is a big sports fan, but he remains loyal to Miami. A Miami Heat and Florida Panthers fan, he has also cheered on the University of Miami at the collegiate level and was in the building when the Hurricanes faced Indiana in the College Football Playoff championship game in January.

For now, DJ Khaled doesn't appear to be choosing a side between Arizona and Houston.
