Why is France appealing Michael Olise's yellow card?
Olise's yellow card matters because of yellow card suspensions at the World Cup for accumulation.
If he were to keep this yellow card, then pick up another in the quarterfinal, he'd be suspended for the semifinal.
France is trying to get out in front of that and avoid any such danger.
Olise has been a dynamic playmaker all tournament, and the last thing France wants is to lose his firepower for a semifinal in part due to a questionable card decision.
