Eberechi Eze was always a candidate to leave Crystal Palace in a major transfer. But it looked for a time like his destination would be Tottenham Hotspur. At the last moment, his path changed, and Eze ended up at Arsenal.
The move comes into the spotlight Sunday as Palace take on the Gunners, with Eze in the starting eleven to take on his former club.
Eze has already been influential in his new colors, and his old side surely miss him.
Why did Eberechi Eze leave Crystal Palace for Arsenal?
A player of Eze's ability always seemed destined to leave Palace for one of the biggest clubs in the world, in this case Arsenal.
The England international was linked to multiple clubs, with Spurs making a strong push and almost getting a deal over the line.
But when Arsenal entered the picture, they moved to the top of his list.
Eze grew up as a fan of the Gunners. It'd be a dream come true to join them.
The deal was for $80.5 million, depriving Palace of its most dynamic playmaker for a hefty cost.
And now Eze is in North London, showing his abilities week in and week out for Arsenal.
