Dax Shepard Says He Offered to Pay for Daughter Delta, 11, to Freeze Her Eggs for Future Use
Dax Shepard put fatherhood first on Valentine’s Day.
The Armchair Expert podcast host revealed that he chose to focus his attention on his and wife Kristen Bell’s daughters Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 11, for the Feb. 14 holiday, joking that the Nobody Wants This star may have been underwhelmed by his lack of affection this year.
“My girls are my Valentines, so I went all out,” he said during the Feb. 23 Fact Check segment of the podcast. “All I'll say is that someone had a less-than-exciting Valentine's Day versus their anticipation.”
And Kristen wasn’t alone, as Dax admitted he also came up short when it came to his mom Laura Labo.
“My mom's in town,” he continued. “She's been my Valentine for 51 years, so it really becomes a bandwidth. All my resources went to the little ones and I definitely neglected my mom and Kristen.”
Fortunately, the Parenthood alum was confident that his other leading ladies understood his logic, noting that “they saw that I was spending a lot of my energy on my other two Valentines.”
Dax was certainly intentional in his efforts to make his kids feel special, noting that he spent “several hours” putting together a thoughtful gesture in their honor.

“I know that my daughter loves floaties for the pool, so I got heart-shaped floaties and inflated them and put them in the pool,” he explained. “I made each of them handmade cards where I really drew pictures and then I wrote how I felt about them.”
As for Kristen—who married Dax in 2013—the Frozen voice actress has also been candid about her relationship over the years. In fact, she recently detailed her outlook on their relationship and how they navigate all that life throws their way.
“I am glad I chose my husband because he has a commitment to growth at all times,” she said on SiriusXM's Andy Cohen Live in October. “I don't like the idea that you're looking for your perfect puzzle piece, because you also have to become a puzzle piece that fits with someone else.”
