The Dallas Cowboys have added a couple of wide receivers as free agent signings on Monday.
Does it have anything to do with George Pickens? That's harder to say.
The reality is that the Cowboys seem to have just wanted to sign a couple of veteran pass catchers, announcing deals with both Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Tyler Johnson.
Pickens has yet to sign his franchise tender, news that was reported not long before these signings were announced.
That sure makes the information seem connected, even if it's not.

Why did the Cowboys sign MVS?
The Cowboys signed Valdes-Scantling to add a speedy veteran WR to their room.
It likely has very little to do with concern over Pickens, although in the world where there is real reason for concern, signing MVS and Johnson helps a little but not a lot.
At this point, Valdes-Scantling is a relatively unexciting but known commodity.
He's 31 years old and coming off a season split five games apiece with the San Francisco 49ers and Pittsburgh Steelers.
He had four grabs for 40 yards with the 'Niners, then 10 more catches for 80 yards and a TD with the Steelers.
Valdes-Scantling has also played for the Packers, Chiefs, Bills and Saints in his eight-year NFL career.
He's a long way removed from the days when he was a deep threat for Green Bay and then Kansas City, but he still does enough of the little things and causes a bit of fear for defenses.
He would never replace Pickens adequately, but he's another trustworthy WR to have in the building.
