The Washington Commanders have a new kicker for Monday Night Football.
It was a key, last-minute decision before the final game of Week 8 gets underway against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Commanders didn't see this coming, but a late injury addition altered their plans.

Who is the Commanders' kicker?
The Commanders' kicker for Week 8 Monday Night Football is Matthew Wright.
He was signed on Monday afternoon.
Wright kicked in one game earlier this season for the Tennessee Titans and made one field goal and one extra point without a miss.
In his NFL career, he's 56-for-64 on field goals and 42-for-44 on extra points. He has made a pair of 59-yarders in his career and is overall 7-for-11 from 50-plus.

Why isn't Matt Gay kicking for Commanders?
Matt Gay, the Commanders' regular kicker, popped up on the injury report on Friday with a back problem.
They didn't make any roster move until Monday afternoon.
The Commanders didn't even have a kicker on the practice squad.
Technically, they've signed Wright to a practice squad deal and elevated him to the active roster while ruling Gay out.
This season is Gay's first in Washington, and he's been 10-for-14 on field goals and 18-for-18 on extra points.
