A Chicago Bears quarterback is on the cover of a Madden NFL video game. Who would've ever thought that was possible?
That's the honor earned by Caleb Williams, who will represent the league on the front of Madden 27.
The news was announced on Wednesday with this cover release:

Why is Caleb Williams on the Madden cover?
Williams is one of the NFL's most exciting young players.
He's a dual-threat QB with incredible arm talent. He makes the kind of throws that some would've thought were only possible for Patrick Mahomes.
Williams was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and his second season (2025) was a breakout campaign.
The Bears believe they have an immense future ahead of them with Williams at the helm, and he has the potential to be a charismatic face of the league if he continues to improve.
Is Caleb Williams cursed?
The Madden Curse isn't actually real.
Yes, there have been overlapping coincidences of injuries to guys who were on the Madden cover. So if you believe in such things, maybe watch out for Williams.
But it's not something that always happens, and clearly there's no real correlation between a video game cover and a real life injury.
