The Los Angeles Rams and Cleveland Browns are finalizing a blockbuster trade involving superstar edge rusher Myles Garrett.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, the trade includes Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick and more pick compensation.
"Bombshell: The Browns are finalizing a trade that will send two-time Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams," Schefter reported.
"In exchange for Garrett, the Rams are expected to send Pro-Bowl edge Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick and other draft-pick compensation still being negotiated to the Browns," Schefter added.
Why Browns are trading Myles Garrett
There could be many reasons, including Garrett wanting to simply get out of Cleveland, where he has no chance to compete.
Another logical reason from where the Browns are sitting is the team is still years away from competing as it goes through a rebuild and Garrett might be on the decline and worth a lot less by the time Cleveland is competing again.
Now, the Browns get a great haul that will help speed up their rebuild.
