The Milwaukee Brewers are two wins away from the World Series.

None of the players are focused on the offseason.

The front office may be looking ahead while keeping its main focus on the task at hand: Winning the NLCS against the two-time defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers.

Still, the Brewers will have several decisions to make this upcoming winter, including what to do with their All-Star closer.

Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter tabbed Trevor Megill as a potential trade candidate due to Milwaukee's previous history when it comes to trading away closers.

"With a fastball that touches triple digits and a knuckle curve that generated a 46.5 percent whiff rate, Megill was one of baseball's most dominant closers, converting 30 of 33 save chances.

"Over the past three seasons, he has a 2.61 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and 10.4 K/9 with 81 saves in 161 appearances, and the Brewers have a history of flipping closers before they get expensive after dealing Josh Hader and Devin Williams," Reuter wrote.

The Brewers traded Hader to the San Diego Padres in 2022. Milwaukee sent Devin Williams to the New York Yankees before the 2025 season.

Megill is eligible for arbitration and due for a significant raise. He earned just $4.7 million this season.

By the time the 32-year-old becomes a free agent in 2028, the Brewers may regret losing Megill for nothing.

Would it be better for them to trade him now and get something of value in return? It will be a hard decision for the Brew Crew, as Megill is one of the top closers in the Majors.
