Just before the Philadelphia 76ers' No. 3 overall pick was announced at the NBA Draft, ESPN's Jay Bilas said that Rutgers forward Ace Bailey was the most talented player still on the board.
The 76ers chose Baylor guard VJ Edgecombe.
The star from the Bahamas won out in the key decision for Philly.
Edgecombe is definitely the safer pick. There are a lot of bust concerns surrounding Bailey.
Conversely, the Baylor superstar is a stud defender and a freak athlete.
His ceiling will be determined by his outside shooting and his playmaking.

But even if Edgecombe doesn't reach his full upside, he'll be an impactful defender who can play well in transition.
The 76ers will have to figure out exactly how he fits with Tyrese Maxey in the backcourt, but it's a good problem to have.
Edgecombe compares himself to Anthony Edwards. Bilas went on to say that there are vibes of Dwyane Wade to him.
If the 76ers get either of those outcomes, look out.
