Chase Elliott has won the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series Most Popular Driver award. Elliott earned the honor on Tuesday night (Nov. 04) at the NASCAR Awards banquet in Scottsdale, Ariz. It was his eighth award in a row.

NASCAR released the top five most popular driver names in voting polls, and a Hendrick Motorsports driver won the award after beating drivers like Ryan Blaney, Ross Chastain, Denny Hamlin, and Kyle Larson. This award has been presented since 1953 and is given out each year through a fan vote.

Elliott, who drives the #9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet, was named the Most Popular Driver for the eighth consecutive season since 2018. The 2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion is one of only five drivers in NASCAR’s top-tier series to win the award at least five times or more, joining his father Bill Elliott (16), Dale Earnhardt Jr. (15), Bobby Allison (8), and Richard Petty (8).

The 2025 National Motorsports Press Association Most Popular Driver Award also went to two drivers in the Xfinity and Truck Series. Justin Allgaier earned the Most Popular Driver award in the Xfinity Series for the sixth time in the last seven years. He falls short of defending his Xfinity title at Phoenix but finishes the campaign in third place in the points standings with three wins and 15 top-five finishes.

Spire Motorsports driver Rajah Caruth won the vote for Most Popular Driver in the Truck Series for the second consecutive season. He finished the season at sixth place in the standings with a win and five top-five finishes.

Chase Elliott wrapped up the season with a P10 finish at the season-finale race at Phoenix Raceway. He scored two wins, 11 top-5s, and 19 top-10 finishes with an average finish of 12.6 in 2024. He ended the season at eighth place in the championship standings.

After winning the award for the eighth time, Chase Elliott thanked his fans for supporting him and shared a heartwarming message for them.

In a post on X, Elliott said:

"Thank you for the votes. Thank you for taking the time out of your day and supporting us in that way and supporting me in that way. I tell a lot of people this that I talk to about it, it’s really about the people and the support that I get to see firsthand and I know not everybody has that vantage point or that perspective, but it truly is incredible and every year, it blows me away to travel to parts of the country that you would never think people are that passionate about what we’re doing."

The NASCAR drivers and teams will return to action next year after a three-month-long off-season.
