The regular season is complete, and the NFL is onto the best time of the year — the playoffs. 

Week 18 had plenty of fireworks, with a number of playoff spots still up grabs on the final weekend. After the results, the league finally has its 14-team field, with each club hoping to lift the Lombardi Trophy after the Super Bowl. 

Here is how the 2025 NFL playoffs are locking with the wild-cad round beginning this weekend.

AFC playoff matchups

1. Kansas City Chiefs vs. 4. Houston Texans

The Texans knocked off the Chargers in the wild-card round to set up a matchup against the Chiefs. Kansas City earned a bye to the divisional round after winning the AFC. 

2. Buffalo Bills vs. 3. Baltimore Ravens

It's a battle of MVPs as Josh Allen goes up against Lamar Jackson for the second time in the playoffs. The Bills handled the Broncos with ease in the wild-card round, while the Ravens knocked off their division rival Steelers to advance. 

NFC current playoff matchups

1. Detroit Lions vs. 6. Washington Commanders

The Lions earned the No. 1 seed in the NFC, posting a franchise-best 15 wins. Their first opponent in the playoffs is the Commanders, who beat the Buccaneers in the opening round of the postseason thanks to a stellar showing out of rookie QB Jayden Daniels. 

2. Philadelphia Eagles vs. 4. Los Angeles Rams

The Eagles took out the Packers in the wild-card round, while the Rams took out the Vikings, setting up a Philadelphia-Los Angeles matchup in the divisional round. It features two QB — Jalen hurts and Matthew Stafford — who have played in recent Super Bowls, with only Stafford coming out victorious.
