As the Seattle Seahawks prepare to take on the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 2026, the world has its eyes not only on the team’s quarterback Sam Darnold, but also the leading lady in his life, Katie Hoofnagle.
On Jan. 25, the couple stole the show following the team’s NFC championship win against the Los Angeles Rams as Hoofnagle joined her beau on the football field for a celebratory kiss.
NFL cameras at the game captured the sweet moment as Hoofnagle showed her love for the football star.
“I love you,” Hoofnagle gushed before planting the smooch on her fiancé. “I’m so proud of you. Hey, you did that!”
Darnold then lightheartedly responded, “We did that.”

Hoofnagle and Darnold went public with their relationship on Instagram in April 2023.
“Happy little moments 🌞💐🥂🌊,” Hoofnagle captioned an Instagram carousel, featuring images of a bouquet gifted from Darnold and selfies from their date nights.
Hoofnagle then started posting photos from the sidelines of Darnold’s games.
In February 2025, the couple made their red carpet debut at the 2025 NFL Honors. Photos showed Hoofnagle complimenting her beau’s classic black suit with a shimmering silver gown.
When did Hoofnagle and Darnold get engaged?
Darnold popped the question in July 2025.
The professional athlete chose to stage the big moment against a dreamy beach backdrop in Dana Point, Calif.

She served as a mortgage loan officer for Loan Pronto in Charlotte before she relocated to Seattle.
Since October 2024, Hoofnagle has been employed by tech company Renvio as an account manager, per her LinkedIn. The company focuses on dialysis machine software to assist people with kidney diseases.

Has Darnold talked about Hoofnagle?
Darnold has rarely discussed his relationship publicly. However, he previously gushed about his then-girlfriend and the “unbelievable” support he receives from her in a March 2025 Us Weekly interview.
“She just understands it. She’s a former athlete herself, and just gets kind of the grind of everything. When I just want to chill, she’s very up for that, especially during the season,” he said at the time.
He continued to tell the outlet that Hoofnagle helps him get out of the house during his off season.
“If she wants to go somewhere and I just want to chill, she’s like, ‘Let’s go out to dinner. We need to go to dinner.’”
“She’s great. She’s always been my biggest supporter. And I love her, and I thank her for that all the time,” he continued.
