FaZe Clan and Matt Kalish are connected thanks to his stake in FaZe Media. Kalish is the co-founder of DraftKings and the CEO of HardScope, a creator media platform. Recently, Adin Ross mentioned him in one of his live streams, holding him and former FaZe Media CEO Richard 'Banks' Bengtson accountable for the exit of multiple FaZe Clan members on December 25, 2025.
Matt Kalish invested $11 million in what could be considered the reboot of the FaZe Clan. This makes him the biggest stakeholder in the company. Here's more.
Who is Matt Kalish: The FaZe Clan stakeholder who owns almost half the company
Matt Kalish invested $11 million in FaZe Media when it was initially formed on May 14, 2024. The formation of this company was announced after GameSquare officially acquired FaZe Clan on March 8, 2024. Therefore, turning the original brand into a creator-focused company was the main intention.
With Kalish's multi-million dollar investment, he officially owns 49% of FaZe Media right from the get-go. Owing to this reason, he is also a board member and a rather influential one. As the FaZe Clan drama erupted, Adin Ross came out in the open, alleging that the company expected 20% revenue from its content creators long after initially signing them.
In his stream, Ross claimed:
"Banks and Matt Kalish, you guys messed up, because initially, with the announcement video, you guys were supposed to make them sign either stating that these guy pay rent or for all these expenses or equity. You guys waited two years later. That's the issue. That's why the FaZe boys are, in the outcome, the way it is, are in the right."The allegations from Adin Ross basically hold the company accountable for asking for 20% of the revenue after the streamers had already become popular. According to Ross, this may have led former FaZe Clan creators such as Lacy, Adapt, and Jasontheween to leave the organisation.
Furthermore, even the former CEO, Richard "FaZe Banks" Bengtson, had left the organisation on July 28, 2025, following some allegations about a crypto scam. On December 26, 2025, Bengston took to his X account to address the FaZe controversy, noting that signing the aforementioned creators was one of the worst decisions of his life and that it has put him in debt.
On the other hand, Matt Kalish has yet to address the situation officially and has not released a statement on any of his social media platforms as of the time of writing.
