Love Island USA Season 8 is off to the races!
The hit Peacock dating series, which returned on Tuesday night (June 2), introduced viewers to 10 sexy singles, as well as two hot new bombshells in its premiere episode. Already, it’s clear that this group of Islanders is ready to find love, test connections, and even plant a few surprises over the next six weeks.
The cast, outside of their alluring personalities, has been sparking excitement ever since their identities were unveiled last week. This season features a dad, a male nurse, a Paralympic champion, the brother of a former Islander, and even the daughter of an NBA player.
Aniya Harvey was the first Islander introduced, and she wasted no time getting into her family history. As the daughter of a former NBA player and a shoe designer, Aniya helps her family run their nonprofit organization. Since she doesn’t explicitly name who her father is, we can understand if you’re feeling curious. Luckily, we have you covered! Keep reading for everything we know.
Who is Aniya Harvey’s dad?
A quick Google search reveals that Aniya Harvey’s dad is former NBA player Donnell Harvey. Donnell was selected by the New York Knicks in the 2000 NBA Draft, before he was traded to the Mavericks. As Aniya mentioned in the premiere of Love Island USA Season 8, her dad has also played for the Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic, and the Phoenix Suns. He ultimately retired from the NBA in 2005, before playing ball overseas (perhaps he’d get along well with Love Island USA Season 7 star Chris Seeley). These days, he and his wife run a nonprofit organization, for which Aniya serves as the marketing director.
Who is Aniya Harvey coupled up with?
Aniya is currently coupled up with KC Chandler — and while they didn’t initially choose each other, they are already proving to be a strong couple within the villa. When each couple was given the opportunity to explore a connection with someone else at the end of the premiere episode, both Aniya and KC chose to stay with each other.
