Who is Cooper Flagg's brother? Meet the 3-star basketball recruit following in Duke star's footsteps

18 hours ago 2

The Duke Blue Devils are searching for their first national championship since 2015.

One reason why the Blue Devils look like their good enough to do that is how well star freshman Cooper Flagg, who leads Duke with 18.9 points per game, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. Although he suffered an ankle injury in the first round of the ACC tournament last month, he's played the entirety of Duke's March Madness run, and has looked as dominant as ever.

But what you may not know about Flagg is that he has a brother, Ace Flagg, who also plays basketball. Here's everything you need to know about the future No. 1 pick's twin brother.

Who is Ace Flagg?

Ace is Cooper's twin brother. He is a class of 2025 recruit, who played in high school with his brother Cooper for Nokomis High School in Newport, Maine for three seasons before they both transferred to Montverde Academy in Florida for the 2023 season. With his older brother playing at Duke, he transferred to Greensboro Day School in North Carolina, where he played his senior season.

Per 247Sports, Ace is a 3-star recruit, ranked as the 61st power forward and No. 20 overall player out of North Carolina. Although the two Flagg brothers were supposed to be class of 2025, Cooper reclassified two years ago to the class of 2024 so that he could play at Duke sooner.

In Oct. 2024, Ace verbally committed to the University of Maine, where his mother, Kelly Bowman-Flagg, also played basketball. He has since signed with the Bears, despite having offers from West Virginia and George Washington. The Flagg family was raised in Newport, Maine, which sits just less than 40 miles to the east of the University of Maine.
