Anne Burrell's Death: Gigi Hadid, Food Network Stars Pay Tribute to Late Chef
Anne Burrell often called herself a lucky girl.
And a big part of that was because she had her very own “Prince Charming” Stuart Claxton, whom she married in 2021. Prior to Anne’s tragic June 17 death, she lived with Stuart and his 20-year-old son Javier in their Brooklyn home—and the Food Network star recently assured that every day with her little family felt like a fairytale.
“October will be four years,” she told the Daily Mail in April. “It seems like it’s been four minutes. I don’t know if it’s a honeymoon [phase] but I feel like it’s settled into married life days which I really enjoy.”
Indeed, when Anne was not posting about food or travel on social media, she often shared photos of herself and her husband referring to them with the #TheClaxtons hashtag.
“You make me the happiest girl in the world!!!” Anne gushed in a 2022 Valentine’s Day post to Stuart. “I love you to the moon and back my sweet!!!”

When did Anne Burrell and Stuart Claxton meet?
Anne’s love story with Stuart began just years ago. The couple first met in 2018 on Bumble before their relationship became more serious while quarantining with Anne’s family in Cazenovia, New York, during the COVID-19 pandemic. In late 2020, Stuart proposed, which was a complete surprise to Anne.
“I mean, I am 50,” she told Today at the time. “It didn’t seem it would be in the cards for me. I had always been so focused on my career. [Marriage] wasn’t something I thought of.”

Do Anne Burrell and Stuart Claxton have any kids?
Prior to meeting Anne, Stuart welcomed his son Javier in 2005. For her part, Anne often gushed over the 20-year-old, who lived with the couple in their Brooklyn home.
“A new home, a wedding, a stepson, great family, great friends, good health, great fans and just so much more!!!” Anne wrote in a 2021 Thanksgiving post. “Lots of love to all!!!
And while Javier did not share DNA with Anne—they both shared a love for hockey and cooking. Sometimes, Anne even passed the torch to Javier and Stuart to cook meals at home. As she put it in a 2021 post, “The boys are cooking tonight!!! They are making my ‘Killer Turkey Burgers’!!! YUMMY!!!”
The couple also shared two pet cats, Nancy and Marcia.
What does Stuart Claxton do for a living?
Stuart is currently the Vice President of Marketing and Communications at NextUp, a nonprofit that seeks to support women in executive business positions. He previously worked for the Guiness Book of World Records, Time Inc, and TelevisaUnivision, according to his company profile.

A Shared Love of Competition
Anne, a devout New York Rangers fan, often brought Stuart along to cheer on her team at Madison Square Garden, and the couple also regularly attended the U.S. Open every year.
