White House rejects reported draft framework with Iran as ‘fabrication’

The White House has shot down reports of a draft memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran that originated with Tehran’s state media, calling the document “a complete fabrication.”

The reported memorandum claimed the US had proposed withdrawing all its forces from around Iran and dropping its naval blockade of Iranian ports in exchange for Tehran reopening the Strait of Hormuz and restoring traffic to pre-war levels in 30 days.

“This report from Iranian controlled media is not true and the MOU they ‘released’ is a complete fabrication,” the White House’s Rapid Response 47 X account said. “Nobody should believe what Iranian state media is putting out. FACTS MATTER.”
