A historic new era of action sports competition will get started in California's capital over the coming days — get ready for X Games Sacramento.

This weekend's event marks the first of the new X Games League (XGL) Summer Season, in which clubs and athletes will compete for points towards an overall championship. Four region-based clubs will compete in Sacramento, labeled XC Los Angeles, New York, São Paulo and Tokyo.

A range of 18 marquee events will be held in California, ranging across Skateboard, BMX and Moto X. Outside of competition, fans can also look forward to entertainment and performances from artists like Kaskade, Mustard and Subtronics.
