Nov. 4-ranked UConn will open their 2026-27 season with a home matchup against Gardner-Webb on Monday night.
The Huskies are entering this season looking to build on the program's impressive legacy. Despite a disappointing title loss to Michigan last spring, Dan Hurley has rebuilt his squad masterfully with much help from the transfer portal. UConn's roster is not brand-new though, with talents like Silas Demary Jr. and Braylon Mullins returning to the backcourt.
Gardner-Webb has a tough schedule to start out the season, visiting both UConn and Texas on the road before jumping into Big South play. The Runnin' Bulldogs are entering their third campaign under head coach Jeremy Luther, and with a revamped roster the program will look to improve in conference rankings overall.
