World Series baseball returns to Tropicana Field for the first time in 18 years as the Rays host Game 3 against the Brewers on Monday.
Tampa Bay's most recent Fall Classic appearance came in 2020, when every game between the Rays and Dodgers was played in Arlington, Texas, due to COVID-related restrictions. For longtime Tampa Bay fans — relatively speaking, of course, given the franchise's youth — Monday will be a throwback to the last World Series game at the Trop in 2008, when James Shields and B.J. Upton led the Rays to victory in their eventual five-game series loss to the Phillies.
The current edition of the Rays returns home with plenty of work to do after a pair of razor-thin defeats in Milwaukee to open the series. Fresh off his MVP performance in the ALCS, Freddy Peralta will get the ball for Tampa Bay and the pressure will be on to deliver against his longtime team.
Milwaukee counters with lefty Robert Gasser, who has allowed only a solo homer by Fernando Tatis Jr. in his nine innings across two starts against the Padres and Dodgers this postseason. Can he and the Brewers' clutch bats put the Rays on the brink of elimination, or will Tampa Bay claw back into the series?
Here's everything you need to know about watching Game 3 of the World Series.
