The No. 1 team in the nation gets its first taste at SEC gymnastics when Oklahoma hosts Missouri on Friday.
The best program in the nation, year in and year out, the Sooners face a new obstacle this season, now in college gym's toughest conference. It won't stop them from putting up the biggest scores of the year, but is a much-needed mental challenge for a team on its revenge run after missing out on the NCAA championships final a season ago.
Oklahoma has three of the best all-arounders in the nation in Jordan Bowers, Audrey Davis and Faith Torrez. Just freshmen, Addison Fatta and Lily Pederson are also ready to make their mark in Norman.
No. 10 Missouri is set for a breakout season after just missing out of the national semifinals last year. Ranked 10th after two weeks, the Tigers put up a decent start to the season with scores averaging 196.413. But the sky is the limit this year in Columbia.
Stars Helen Hu, Amari Celestine and Mara Titarsolej will stop at nothing to bring this program to national attention. They can do just that on the road against Oklahoma.
