The college lacrosse program of the moment meets a dormant power seeking a return to the top as Notre Dame and Princeton face off Monday in the NCAA championship game.

The traditional Memorial Day conclusion to the season will see the top-seeded Tigers (16-2) trying to secure their seventh national title but first since 2001, while the second-seeded Irish (13-2) go for their third trophy in four years after never having won one before 2023.

Both teams have balanced offenses, with Tewaaraton Award finalist Nate Kabiri (38 goals, 45 assists) leading a Tigers attack that ranks third in the country at 14.82 goals per game. The Irish aren't far behind in scoring at 13.29 per game, but defense is their calling card. Notre Dame allows just 8.57 goals per game with Tewaaraton finalist Shawn Lyght and goalkeeper Thomas Ricciardelli anchoring the back line.

These programs haven't played since the first round of the 2010 NCAA tournament, an Irish victory in New Jersey. Who will prevail Monday with a trophy on the line?

Here's all you need to know to watch the championship game.
